The Smell of Bullshit, part 74: Consistency (Constantincy?), Thy Name is Not Lush

A couple of emails have come into the blog over the past few days (emails to southside socialist at hotmail dot co dot uk) which suggest that the problems within Lush previously raised by employees here haven’t been resolved. This is one of them, with identifying details omitted.

  1. I worked for Lush as a trainee manager back in 2006 and have a story to tell if you’re interested. Things have been rotten for ages, not just the past few years. Cover ups, instant dismissal and rigged responses to ‘official complaints’, all the while treating hard-working and dedicated shop floor staff like shit, simultaneously promoting and honouring the most hideous and vile more senior staff.

  2. Wow, I read a few of your “the smell of bullshit” posts about Lush and I have to say, I’m really shocked. I always loved Lush. I had no idea things were so bad for the employees or the shady stuff that goes on there. This is very enlightening. I’m not sure I want to spend any more of my hard earned money on this company. I even considered a part-time job there just for the employee discount but it sounds like your entering the gates of hell when you work for this company. I think I’ll pass and look for a different brand of beauty products not tested on animals. This was very eye-opening.
